Simisola Obasan is a multi-qualified lawyer with experience in Immigration Law, Corporate, and Business Law. She serves as an Adjudicator and Board Member on the City of Airdrie's Assessment Review Board, and as a Principal Partner at Grandforth Legal Practitioners. She is also a Public Service Officer and a faculty member at Bow Valley College.
Simi has also won numerous awards and recognitions in Airdrie. She was recognized in Airdrie as Volunteer Citizen of the Year 2023 by Direct Energy and Alberta Weekly Newspapers Association. She was also recognized as an Immigrant of Distinction under the Entrepreneurship and Innovation category 2024 by Immigrant Services Calgary. She also received the Community Leader of the Year Award 2024 by Diversity Awards. She was also recognized in February 2025 for her exceptional leadership as ABC President by the Airdrie Black Community (ABC).
She is a well-rounded leader, public servant, wife, mother, lawyer, adjudicator, who impressively wears these many hats with her head held high, with the understanding that there are no impossibilities in life. She possesses strong credentials, experience, and expertise that has inspired and impacted many in her community.
