Meet Simi Obasan

As a dedicated member of the Airdrie community, I am excited to announce my candidacy for City Council. With a passion for public service, a deep knowledge of the law, and a commitment to ensuring our community remains a vibrant and inclusive place to live, I am confident that I have the skills, experience, and vision necessary to effectively represent our community.

My Vision

My campaign is built on four core pillars:
  • Promoting Affordable Housing: As a resident of Airdrie, I have seen the issues surrounding the lack of affordable housing. As your City Councillor, I will work tirelessly to improving housing cost and availability in Airdrie, to help accommodate Airdrie’s growing population, reduce homelessness, and simulate local economy.
  • Ensuring Improved Recreational Facilities: I understand the economic, social, and physical health benefits that come with improved recreational facilities in Airdrie, and how this can enhance the quality of life for Airdrie residents. I will work to enhance recreation in Airdrie, to create a healthier, more connected, and prosperous community for all Airdrie residents.
  • Advocating for Robust Healthcare: As a community, we have a responsibility to support and advocate for better access to quality healthcare and specialized services, to address health disparities and improve health outcomes for our rapidly growing population. I am committed to supporting and advocating for health initiatives to ensure that our city remains a beautiful and livable place for generations to come.
  • Promoting Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion: I believe that every member of our community deserves a voice and a chance to thrive. As your City Councilor, I will work tirelessly to ensure that our community is heard and that everyone has access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed, regardless of their background or beliefs.
